Hello Barracuda Families,

Beachside High School will administer the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test—National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) to all 10th-grade students on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

The purpose of the test is to allow all students to experience taking a college readiness test and identify students who might benefit from advanced coursework.  The PSAT is also the exam that is used for 11th graders to qualify for the National Merit Scholars Program. Additionally, a score of 430 on the PSAT Math qualifies as a concordant score for the Algebra I EOC.

Students in 9th & 11th grade wishing to take the PSAT:

Please complete the registration and pay the $22 fee here: PSAT SchoolPay.  The last day to pay & register will be Friday, September 13, 2024. There is NO possibility of receiving results if payment is not received by this date. Your student’s Score Report for the PSAT/NMSQT® will be available in mid-to-late December from College Board.

Accommodation Requests/Approved Accommodations

However, if your accommodations change, it is YOUR responsibility to complete a new form and resubmit in plenty of time. The deadline to submit accommodations requests to PSAT for test day accommodations is September 3.

Students with approved accommodations: Please familiarize yourself with the assistive technology within the Bluebook platform if you have an approved accommodation.
