TESTING INFORMATION

IMPORTANT:

If you have school based testing accommodations, you MUST see your school counselor BEFORE you book your test to allow time for her to apply on your behalf for CollegeBoard (AP, PSAT/NMSQT, SAT) or ACT approved accommodations. School based accommodations are not recognized by these organizations.

ACT TESTING INFORMATION

If you have school based testing accommodations, you MUST see your school counselor BEFORE you book your test to make sure you have ACT approved accommodations.

  • Please allow adequate time, before your chosen test date, for the request to be processed by ACT.

  • Late registration incurs an additional fee.

Please arrive fully prepared with calculator, pencil, ID and test ticket. You will not be allowed to enter without these items, we do not provide calculators and all questions can be answered without one if you forget. ACT has a no cell phone policy, please leave these in your car before you come on campus.

PSAT / NMSQT TESTING INFORMATION

Beachside High School will administer the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test – National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) to all 10th grade students on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. The purpose of the test is to give all students an opportunity to experience taking a college readiness test and identify students who might benefit from advanced coursework.  The PSAT is also the exam that is used for 11th graders to qualify for the National Merit Scholars Program. Additionally, a score of 430 on the PSAT Math qualifies as a concordant score for the Algebra I EOC.

There is no need to register 10th grade students, they will receive their test at no cost, through state funding. However, if 10th grade students choose to opt-out please return PSAT-10th-Grade-opt-out-letter  to the front office desk.

Students in 9th & 11th grade wishing to take the test must register online please click here: PSAT SchoolPay you do not need to submit registration letter, when paying online. The last day to pay & register will be Monday, September 09, 2022. There is NO possibility of receiving results if payment is not received by this date. Your student’s Score Report for the PSAT/NMSQT® will be available in mid-to-late December from College Board.

Accommodated students

Please be sure to complete the accommodation consent request and return to Mrs. Hatcher or Mr. Sirak by August 20th, 2022. This must be processed by this time for CollegeBoard to approve your school-based accommodations. Requests after this date may not be processed and students will test without school-based accommodations. 

Consent Form

If you have already applied for accommodations with CollegeBoard, you do not need to apply again, you retain the accommodations until one year after graduation date. However, if your accommodations change, it is YOUR responsibility to complete a new form and resubmit in plenty of time.
