How to Join the Beachside Honors Chorus: To register for our choral program, select “Chorus 1” on your course registration form and submit your audition by end of day April 4th.
The Honors Chorus Audition is easy to complete!
- Make a video recording of yourself performing:
- Happy Birthday or Jingle Bells (Honors Chorus Only)
- National Anthem (Honors Chorus and Barracuda Blue Notes)
Submit your Audition and get the link to the National Anthem Tracks – With the QR CODE below.
Students will be notified of placement in Honors Chorus via email by Mrs. Poe within two weeks of Audition Submission. Deadline for Audition Submission is Friday April 4th 2025.
Beachside Honors Chorus Distinctions! Honors Chorus students perform on both local and national stages, showcasing their talents at prestigious venues such as:
- University of Florida
- EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional
- St. Patrick’s Cathedral
- Radio City Music Hall
- St. Augustine Nights of Lights
- Jacksonville IceMen and Jumbo Shrimp Games
In 2024, the choir had the honor of opening for the Rockettes’ Christmas Spectacular, and we are proud to have represented St. Johns County at Candlelight for two consecutive years.
Barracuda Blue Notes – Vocal Jazz
The Barracuda Blue Notes, our premier vocal jazz ensemble, is a secondary course exclusively available to students accepted into Honors Chorus, offering additional opportunities for musical growth and performance through solo and ensemble performance.
Honors Chorus and Barracuda Blue Notes students follow a structured course progression over four years:
Honors Chorus/Barracuda Blue Notes
- Chorus 4 /Vocal Ensemble 2
- Honors Chorus 5/Vocal Ensemble 3
- Honors Chorus 6/Vocal Ensemble 4
- AICE AS Level Music/Vocal Ensemble 5 Honors
Honors Chorus Fee & Fundraising
- A fee of $150 per semester is required for Honors Chorus. This fee covers music purchases, accompanists, a choir T-shirt, and some transportation costs for performances. To assist with fees, there will be one fall semester fundraiser.
- Uniform Purchase is an additional cost and will be ordered before the end of the school year to ensure it is ready for First Semester performances.
